The Process

I’m often asked about the process. It’s literally one colour at a time, applied by screens with handcut stencils, using meticulous registration by eye.

Final touch on this design – SPINIFEX PIGEON – is the white eye dot – using a tiny paintbrush.

A dead Great Egret with a bird band still attached to its leg from the 1960s has been found in Deadmans Swamp in South Australia. So not only are they majestic and lovely, they are tough and long-lived as well! Awesome birds!
